Purple Wheat is part of the anciet grain family Ours is grown in Australia and is stoneground and sustanable . It contains a simple gluten which makes it easier for our bodies to digest. also known as purple grain wheat or purple wheatberry, is a unique and visually striking variety of wheat characterized by its deep purple or violet-colored kernels. Unlike traditional wheat varieties, which typically have golden or brownish kernels, purple wheat stands out due to its rich, vibrant hue.Purple wheat contains the same antioxident that blueberries have, anthocyanins, which makes the blueberries blue and hence the purple wheat the purpleish colour.

This flour has had some of the bran and germ removed.

When the bread is baked you do not get a purple loaf but a wonderfully wholesome brown loaf with a hint of deep purple colour.
